The new-age complexities of life prompt a certain thought process; one that wishes to define our existance. As i sit on a farm recapping on the amazing 14 days Ive spent in Waimamku, NZ; I cannot help but criticise the way the human race has turned out. Our economies are advanced and our societies geared around currency, but could YOU survive on your own? Could you be thrown into the wild and survive on the most basic of Hunter-Gatherer instincts. The past 2 weeks have allowed me to analyse happiness and productivity of the human race. Attempts at defining Wisdom and intelligence. The ability to own land and give it a sense of productivity is under-rated. To grow vegetables and care for livestock. To consume your meats and prepare your land for the next years yield. These are basic insticts all animals have, and with the human intellect we’ve adopted our techniques and mastered this art. I have an unbelievable amount of respect for yielding land and this new found desire to engage in this style of life is one I am happy to welcome.
